Philosophy, from ancient Greek φιλοσοφία (composed of φιλεῖν, philein: "to love", and σοφία, sophia: "wisdom" or "to know") 1, literally meaning "love of wisdom", is a process of critical reflection and questioning the world, knowledge and human existence2. It has existed since antiquity in the West and in the East, through the figure of the philosopher, not only as a rational activity but also as a way of life. The history of philosophy makes it possible to apprehend its evolution.
